Dr. Andrew Boyle has his Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Southern California where he studied with the internationally renowned conductor and pianist Jeffrey Kahane. He has won first prize in the Gail Newby Concerto Competition, Tucson Symphony Orchestra Young Artists Competition, and the Arizona State University Concerto Competition. He has also won second prize in the USC Concerto Competition, third prize in the Jacob Flier International Piano Competition in New York, and was an awarded semi-finalist in the Virginia Waring International Piano Competition. In addition to solo playing he is an avid chamber musician and has performed numerous recitals with instrumentalists and vocalists. He is also passionate about improvisation: he has recorded a jazz album with vocalist Grace Roman and has studied eighteenth century classical improvisation and partimenti with Tobias Cramm in Basel, Switzerland. His master's degree is from Rice University with Robert Roux and his bachelor's degree from Arizona State University with Robert Hamilton.
